Shrikant J. Chinchalkar, M.Th.O, B.Sc.OT, CHT, is a registered therapist by the American National Board of Certification Commission in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). He has over 50 years of clinical experience in treating hand and upper extremity conditions. Besides clinical experience he has 40 years of teaching and 30 years of research experience in upper extremity rehabilitation. He designed and developed Hand and Upper Extremity Therapy programs at four major teaching centers in Canada including Roth-McFarlane Hand & Upper Limb Centre at St. Joseph’s Health Care in London, Ontario.
He designed a Hand Therapy Fellowship Program, the one and only one of it’s kind in Canada at Roth-McFarlane Hand and Upper Limb Center. This fellowship now has been renamed as “Chinchalkar Hand Therapy Fellowship Program.” Shrikant has worked as a guest lecturer at University of Manitoba, Mohawk College, McMaster University, University of Toronto and Western University in Canada.
Shrikant has conducted many instructional courses on upper extremity rehabilitation and has over 300 presentations in over 28 countries in the world. He has won many awards and recognitions for his presentations. He was awarded the “Dr. Paul Brand Award of Excellence” by the American Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT), “Best Educator” by the Western University, a “Life Time Achievement Award” by the International Federation of Society of Hand Therapists (IFSHT) in Berlin and an Honorary Advisor to the Asia Pacific Wrist Association in Seoul, Korea. Shrikant has authored six book chapters and has published 37 papers and 15 abstracts in numerous peer-reviewed journals related to Upper Extremity Surgery and Therapy.
Shrikant established Advanced Clinical Education Inc.(ACE) in 1989.The primary mandate of Advanced Clinical Education Inc. is to provide basic to advanced level of Upper Extremity Rehabilitation education to the therapists treating upper extremity conditions.
